What personal data we collect and why we collect it
In short: we do not automatically collect any personnal data nor use any tracker.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form (such as name or pseudo, comment). It is not required to provide any real name. And as this is a comment so, well, you know, this data is displayed publicly on the website.
We also collect the visitor’s public IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
When visitors use contact forms on the site we collect the data shown in the contact form (such as name or pseudo, email, subject and message). This data is sent to the administrators of the site and is used to reply to the messages. This data is not used for any other purpose and is not used for marketing purposes. This data is stored on the server only very briefly for each submission, the time needed to send the e-mail to the administrators.
When visitors subscribe to the newsletter, we collect their email. This email is securely stored on the server hosting this website and is used to send the newsletter from time to time.
This email is not used for any other purpose, and is not shared with any third-party.
When visitors complete orders in the store, we collect their name, email, postal address and a phone number (needed for the shipping process), and we may also collect other personnal data. All this data is securely stored on the server hosting this website and is needed and used to fulfill the orders.
This data is not used for any other purpose and is not shared with any third-party.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
Who we share your data with
Contact forms and newsletter
Any data sent through contact forms and when subscribing for a newsletter is not shared with anyone. We keep it for ourselves.
When ordering a product in the store, your payment data is processed and secured by a payment provider. We work with two providers, located in the USA:
When paying via a direct bank transfer, your data is not shared with anyone.
When ordering physical products, your data, including your postal address, phone number, and e-mail may be shared with the manufacturer of your product, so it can process and directly send you your order.
We work with two manufacturers:
- Books are printed and sent by Lulu.com. They’re located in the USA, but work with printers around the world so the books can be sent from a location closer to you.
- T-shirts and accessories are manufactured and sent by tpop, a French company.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you send a message using a contact form, the message and its metadata is retained until our conversation is finished, unless you authorize us to keep your contact information or we mutually agree to stay in contact, of course.
If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email is kept indefinitely. This is so we can continue to send your newsletter in the future.
If you order products on the store, your personnal data is kept indifinitely. This is so we can keep track of your orders in the future and provide customer support.
What rights you have over your data
If you have left comments or a message through a contact form, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
If you have subscribed to the newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link provided in the newsletter you’ve received.
If you have created an account on the store, you can ask us to erase your account at any moment. Note that by doing so, you will lose all your order history and download links for digital products. Any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes will not be erased.
You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
