Duik Ángela is ready!

It's been a long way since the development was started a year ago (the first private Alpha version was released in August 2021). I don't really believe yet it's ready!

What now?

Duik Ángela is not completely finished yet... And it will never be!

We're going to test the first Beta privately, with all of you supporters, until 15 June 2022. This is the date when the Beta is going public! In the meantime, there may be other updates of the Beta to fix any bug you might find.

As soon as the Beta becomes public, it will be available on RxLab's website, but you'll still get a private early access to future versions and updates. Your feedback has been very useful, and I hope to continue this collaboration ;)

Duik Docs and Tutorials

The next milestone is to write the user guide, which will be available online and as a book, as for Duik Bassel, and record the official Character Rigging Course with Duik Ángela. All of these will be available with a discount for all supporters, of course.

It should take a few months to make these though.

Duik Ángela.1 (17.1)

There already is a Duik Ángela.1 (17.1) version planned, with new features and improvements. But before that we're back at work on other tools.

Ramses

Ramses will soon get a new update, and shortly after that it will get it's "offline" feature, so it can be used as a simple app, without server. As for Duik, you'll get an early access to these versions.

DuME

The Duduf Media Encoder will soon also get a new update, introducing the Nodes UI and the transcoding/rendering queue. Stay in touch!

Bluik

I'm working on Bluik, aka Duik for Blender, which is used and tested to produce a new short movie, starting in June. There won't be testable versions at first, as it's still a bit too rough, but you can expect something around August or September, like a first private Alpha test ;)

 

New in Duik Ángela Beta

Since the previous Alpha version, a lot of improvements have been made and there are a few new features.
This is the list of the most important ones, read the changelog for the full details:

• After their envelops, Bones got their noodles! A nice way to quickly create completely customizable bendy limbs.

The Connector can now connect a controller to a selection of Keys created by the Key Morph tool.

Rename tool: to rename all puppet pins of a layer, you can just select the layer itself.

The Kleaner now has optional (soft) limit settings.

The frequency of the Wiggle and the Swink tools can now be safely animated!

The performance of the Parent Constraint has been greatly improved! You can now use it safely even in very long comps.

The Effector now works with custom shapes! (as long as they're poylgons, i.e. vertices without tangents)

The Tail rig (and all FK with Overlap rigs) now have a Stretch parameter.

A few bugs have been fixed too, and note that Duik Ángela should now work correctly on After Effects Beta versions too.

This is a stretchy tail rig, using only bones and their new noodles, along with only five keyframes and the Kleaner.
