Hei venner!

Let's have a look at what's going on at RxLaboratory, what we're developping, and what tools you're going to be able to test soon through your early access to thank you for your kind support!

Ramses

Ramses, The Rx Asset Management System is getting a big new update soon! We've spent the last 10 months using the Alpha test at Rubika, the 3D animation school in France, and we've started using it for the production of short movies at Rainbox. This allowed for a lot of improvements and tweaks, and we're finishing a new version for use in the 2022-2023 cycle at Rubika again and future film productions.

This new version will include a finished Autodesk Maya plugin, along with a lot of improvements and new features in the Ramses Application. We're also starting the development of the Blender and the Adobe After Effects plugins!

It should be available during the next couple of months as a pre-release early access for all our sponsors through the RxLab membership.

To learn more about Ramses, you can have a look at the documentation, and download the current Alpha version here.

OCA

Our Open Cel Animation format has been improved a bit, and we've just released a new version of the OCA Exporter for Krita.

With OCA, you can export and import 2D traditionnal (cel) animation in multiple software. For now, we've released an exporter for Krita, an importer for Blender and an importer for After Effects, but more plugins are being developped (including Photoshop).

More details and downloads here.

Duik Ángela

The public Beta of Duik Ángela, 17.0, will be available on June, 15th! It will stay in Beta test for a few months while we're writing the doc and recording the official tutorials. The plan is to release it around october. We're continuing to give an early access to all versions and the future 17.1 already planned to all our sponsors through the RxLab membership, as always.

Bluik

Duik for Blender, a.k.a. Bluik will get its very first alpha version soon! We're working on it with the production of a new 2D cutout animated short movie entirely animated in Blender.

We're exporting the characters from Krita using our new OCO, Open Cut-Out format, and importing them in Blender automatically.

They're then rigged using auto-rigging tools to be included in Bluik. As you can see in the GIF below, the result is very smooth, everything stays very fluid and you can animate in real time.

We're using the same controller shapes as in Duik for After Effects, and the rigging process will be quite similar, with the same predefined armatures and rigs. But better. :)

Thanks again for your much needed support, allowing us to keep all of these completely free!

💜With love💜
